DIY How to Patch Destroyed Jeans

Posted by Samia

A couple of months ago I learned how to rip my jeans up and make them look cool, ( lol, you know what I mean). Anyways, I made some of the holes a little too big and also I wouldn't wear ripped jeans with my skin showing and stuff.  So, I knew that later on I would have to end up patching them somehow, but I still wanted that cool ripped effect. So, I decided to patch them from the inside :D Yeah, it worked out pretty well. I actually really like them like this, so as always I'm going to share this awesome DIY "How to" with you guys!

What you will need:
A pair of  destroyed jeans
Hemming tape (you can get this from any craft or fabric store)
An iron
An old or unwanted pair of jeans (or any kind of denim material)

Step 1.

Turn your jeans inside out and lay them flat on the floor or a table or where ever you plan to work.

Step 2.
Get out your hemming tape and measure it out around the sides of the ripped section like shown below.

Step 3.

Cut out a piece of material from the older pair of jeans (or whatever you've used) big enough to cover the ripped area.  Just like shown in the picture.

Step 4.

Iron on the patch one side at a time (i.e first iron on the patch with the bottom strip and then the left side, the top and lastly, the right side).  Make sure your patch is turned the opposite way facing you or else its gonna turn out wrong.

All done!!

When your finished it should look something like this.

A little tip

For the knee area, I cut the patch from the knee area of the other pair of jeans, so it can have a cool faded effect.

If you try this out, we would love to see your pictures! :) Tweet us your pictures @asweetdash
